On Friday, the province warned that rising temperatures are causing rapid snowmelt, which could lead to overland flooding as water makes its way into streams. The affected areas are mostly in central and southern Alberta, including Calgary, Cypress Hills and Red Deer. On Monday, Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource expanded the warning, to include the plains area from Peace River and Fort McMurray.
