The Florida Commission on Hurricane Loss Projection Methodology certifies models used by insurers for developing residential and commercial property rate filings in the state. The commission has been reviewing models since 1996. “We’re pleased that the AIR model met all the standards set forth by the Florida Commission,” said Brandie Andrews, senior manager of consulting and client services at AIR. “Certification by the Commission gives AIR model users increased confidence in employing our models for all of their catastrophe risk management activities,” Andrews added. The latest release of the AIR Hurricane Model for the U.S. incorporates the 2011 update of NOAA’s Atlantic basin hurricane database. That includes storms through 2010 and re-analysis data through 1930. Canadian Underwriter Print Group 8 LinkedIn LI X (Twitter) logo Facebook Print Group 8
