Criminal charges against a Toronto man alleging that he sold fake auto insurance have been dropped.

As Canadian Underwriter reported on April 9, 2015, Toronto Police Service charged Min-Hoi Yau with “fraud under $5,000, uttering a forged document and possession of proceeds of crime.”

However, those charges have been dismissed. In a statement to Canadian Underwriter, Yau’s legal counsel says the charges were dropped after Yau proved that he was out of Canada at the time of the alleged incident.
