Up to 20 mm of rain fell in a 24-period as of May 27, swelling riverbanks, and another 30 mm or rain was forecast for some parts of the area on May 28. “The area has seen record rainfall and, as a result, are experiencing significant flooding causing damage to homes and businesses in the region,” said Mike Morris, vice president of national operations for Cunningham Lindsey. “We have mobilized a team of adjusters from across our branch network to join our Thunder Bay adjusters to manage the numbers. They have begun contacting residents and business owners and conducting their investigations, which will include identifying any possible mould implications that may result.” Firm numbers have yet to be released, but city officials have speculated that more than 300 homes have already been affected by the flooding, Cunningham Lindsey noted. “Many business have closed their doors, residents are encouraged to boil their well water and a few surrounding counties have declared a state of emergency.” Canadian Underwriter Print Group 8 LinkedIn LI X (Twitter) logo Facebook Print Group 8
