DAS Canada launches DASbusiness policy for Quebec

Speciality legal expense insurer DAS Canada has launched its DASbusiness policy in Quebec, offering a week of free phone legal advice.
The policy covers legal fees associated with issues such as staffing, tax filings and outstanding invoices. “With the average price of a lawyer in Quebec at over $250/hour, even minor issues can end up causing significant financial hardships to small companies,” the company noted in a statement.

Similar products for individuals have been available in Quebec, but DAS’s offering is focused on small and medium-sized businesses, it also noted.

“Quebec is a very important market for us, with business owners who are very savvy and understand the legal expense insurance concept well,” Barbara Haynes, the company’s CEO noted in a release.

“We’ve been working towards putting down roots in Quebec and we’re thrilled that we can now bring affordable access to justice to its small and medium sized business owners, with a free week of telephone-based legal advice to really demonstrate the value of a policy.”
