The Weather Network reports the southwest Ontario city received about 125 millimetres of rain – or nearly two months worth – in one day. As a result, sections of Highway 407 and the Queen Elizabeth Way were shut down and several roads and basements were flooded. Police were asking people to limit their travel on the roads for the time being, and if they had to venture out, to exercise due caution and drive safely.
