High-quality lightning data from the Canadian Lightning Detection Network were then used in a novel way to fill gaps in the tornado data related to low population density. “The Enhanced Fujita Scale has also been recently introduced in Canada and will serve to further improve the accuracy of Canadian tornado data.” Part of its ongoing Friday Forum series, the event will host Dr. David Sills, a severe weather scientist with the Cloud Physics and Severe Weather research division of Environment Canada. He is also an adjunct professor at York University in Toronto and has worked on issues related to mesoscale meteorology and summer severe weather for the past 20 years. The workshop will be held at ICLR’s offices at 120 Richmond St. East in downtown Toronto from 10:00am to 11:30am. The event will also be streamed live online via Webex webcast at https://iclr.webex.com/iclr/onstage/g.php?t=a&d=665491872 Password: Sills Conference Call number: Local: 416-343-2657 Toll free: 1-866-440-8938 Conference ID: 1712397# RSVP: Tracy Waddington (twaddington@iclr.org) Canadian Underwriter Print Group 8 LinkedIn LI X (Twitter) logo Facebook Print Group 8
