Two moderate earthquakes — one a Magnitude 5.4 and the second, about an hour later, a 5.1 — hit near the east coast of Honshu Japan on Mar. 9.

The area is near where the Magnitude 9 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami hit in March 2011.

As of press time, no significant damage had been reported and no tsunami warnings had been issued.
