Police were on the lookout for people not wearing a seatbelt, wearing one improperly or not having their children properly restrained in the vehicle, according to Saskatchewan Government Insurance, which helps lead the safety campaign. In total, law enforcement issued: 646 tickets for driver failing to wear a seatbelt 43 tickets for passenger failing to wear a seatbelt 16 tickets for driver/passenger under 16 failing to wear a seatbelt SGI is also reminding drivers that mandatory booster seats for children under the age of seven will take effect June 27.
