Allianz and Nordic complete amalgamation

The amalgamation of Allianz Insurance Company of Canada and The Nordic Insurance Company of Canada has recently been finalized under the name of The Nordic Insurance Company of Canada. Allianz and Nordic, insurance subsidiaries of ING Canada Inc. (TSX:IIC.LV), announced their intention to amalgamate on Feb. 20, 2006. ING Canada acquired Allianz Insurance Company of Canada in 2004. The amalgamation of the two companies is part of ING Canada’s plan to integrateAllianz Canada, which it acquired in 2004, into its operations. The amalgamation is not expected to impact customers or brokers.The customers of Allianz Insurance Company of Canada, since ING acquired the company, have been offered insurance and have had their claims serviced by ING Canada’s insurance companies. ING Canada says this practice will persist.
