Canadian Underwriter wins two Gold Awards at 55th annual Kenneth R. Wilson Memorial Awards

Canadian Underwriter received two Gold Awards at the Canadian Business Press’s Kenneth R. Wilson Memorial Awards held in Toronto on June 2.  Canadian Underwriter received a Gold Award for its December 2008 cover, ‘Shifting Ground.’Designed by Pylon.ca, the cover featured 11 black boxes, each of which contains a quote from a Canadian primary insurance company executive discussing marketplace predictions for 2009. In addition, Alister Campbell, chief agent and CEO of Zurich Canada, received a Gold Award for his contributed article “The Power of Branding,” which appeared in the October 2008 edition. He received recognition for outstanding achievement in the category of ‘Best Merchandising/Marketing Article.’Freelance writer Craig Harris received a Top 5 mention for his article “Eco-Insurance,” which appeared in the March 2008 edition. Overall, Canadian Underwriter received nominations in seven categories, including Best Web site, Best News Coverage, Best Profile of a Person (Paul Kovacs).   Claims Canada received a nomination in the ‘Best Feature’ category. The article, “Dangerous Dose,” was written by Craig Harris and appeared in the April/May 2008 issue.
