The Co-operators Group Ltd. announced Tuesday it is offering “tailored” insurance products, including commercial property and liability, for co-operatives who are not affiliated with The Co-operators’ membership.

Dubbed Co-op Guard, the service “allows co-operatives to save time and effort in purchasing the essential insurance products and financial services they need to protect and build their co-operatives,” Guelph-based Co-operators stated in a press release.

Co-op Guard will be available in all provinces other than Quebec June 23, with service in Quebec available “at a later date,” The Co-operators stated.

“The Co-operators currently provides tailored insurance solutions for many of its co-operative member-owners through its Member Benefits Program,” the company stated. “Co-op Guard allows The Co-operators to reach co-operatives that are not affiliated with its membership, offering tailored solutions designed to meet their unique needs.”

Services available under Co-op Guard will include commercial liability (including “enhanced” directors’ and officers’), commercial auto, commercial property, group benefits and group retirement.
