Dolled-up and dapper in their finest frocks, members of the Toronto Insurance Conference (TIC), insurance industry notables and representatives of the TIC-sponsored Community Safety Village, including Chief Armand La Barge, York Region’s Chief of Police, commemorated a half century of success at the TIC’s 50th Annual Black Tie Dinner. The TIC added select embellishments to distinguish this years Black Tie as the event of the half-century. Not only did the evening offer up a spirited spread of items for a charitably minded silent auction as well as some riveting comments from the evenings speaker, nationally-renowned CBC News anchorman Peter Mansbridge, it also represented the culmination of one year’s worth of TIC fundraising initiatives in support of the York Region-based Community Safety Village. TIC’s involvement in the Safety Village – its move to promote community connections – was a major theme throughout the tremendous event held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto this past November.
