MetaRisk 8’s new reporting and catastrophe modelling enhancements will provide expanded reports and database outputs that can be incorporated into other systems and processes, notes a statement from Guy Carpenter, a global risk and reinsurance specialist and a wholly owned subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies. It also introduces access to some functions via scripting, the idea of which is to up user flexibility by allowing scripts to be written to create, modify, save and simulate MetaRisk projects. “This is functionality that will continue to be expanded in future releases,” Guy Carpenter reports. The tool provides a company with a means to communicate its risk processes and decision rationale to all constituents – from management to shareholders, regulators and rating agencies, the statement notes. It also enables clients to meet the rigorous demands of enterprise risk management and impending Solvency II and ORSA requirements. The usability and overall functionality have been increased “in ways that allow our clients to better understand the drivers of risk, assess their options, and deploy their capital accordingly,” Donald Mango, Guy Carpenter’s vice chairman of enterprise analytics, adds in the statement.
