(NYSE: KAR), has started construction of a new auction facility in Oshawa, Ontario. Known as Impact Toronto, the new auction will feature 37 acres of vehicle storage and a 12,000-square-foot building housing office, auction and vehicle inspection areas. The facility is scheduled to be open for business this fall. When completed, Impact Toronto will increase the company’s GTA storage capacity by 60% (to 5,500 vehicles). The new facility will provide office and training space for insurance appraisers, an indoor auction and inspection area, an inspection pit, and an enhanced early tow and appraisal yard.
