Charles Brindamour has assumed the newly created role of chief operating officer, and Derek Iles is now the president of ING Insurance. In addition, ING announced the retirement of two executive staff members, Don Lough and Jacques Valotaire. Brindamour, in his new role, is responsible for all of ING Canada’s insurance operations. He joined the company 15 years ago, and has held a variety of executive posts throughout that time. Most recently, he was executive vice president of ING Canada. Reporting to Brindamour will be Iles, who will take charge of ING Insurance, the subsidiary responsible for the sale of insurance products and services through independent brokers across the country. Iles has been with the company since 1991. Most recently, he was the executive vice president in Ontario and the western provinces. Lough announced his retirement after a 17-year career with the company, in which he held a number of executive positions. Also retired is Valotaire, who was the executive vice president responsible for insurance operations in Quebec and the Atlantic provinces, as well as for ING Canada’s direct marketing insurance subsidiary.
