Home Breadcrumb caret News Breadcrumb caret Industry Insurance and trucking industry launch joint cargo theft study Members of the insurance industry have teamed with the Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) to launch a study examining cargo crime activity in Canada.Markel Insurance Company of Canada, Marsh Canada Limited and Zurich Canada are working alongside CTA, provincial trucking associations and law enforcement agencies to study cargo theft and explore solutions for the problem.Although each […] By Canadian Underwriter, | April 12, 2010 | Last updated on October 30, 2024 1 min read Plus Icon Image Members of the insurance industry have teamed with the Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) to launch a study examining cargo crime activity in Canada.Markel Insurance Company of Canada, Marsh Canada Limited and Zurich Canada are working alongside CTA, provincial trucking associations and law enforcement agencies to study cargo theft and explore solutions for the problem.Although each of the stakeholders has already worked towards addressing the issue, this study represents the first co-ordinated approach, a CTA release says.“The purpose of this study is to identify trends in cargo crimes across the country, identify best practices in combating cargo crime and develop an action plan for the private and public sector to address this important issue,” said CTA CEO David Bradley.Lansdowne Technologies Inc. is coordinating the study, which will involve a literature review and interviews with stakeholders concerned with the issue.The study will be completed by the summer of 2010.
