Moore-McLean Insurance Group appoints John Belyea as chief operating officer

Moore-McLean Insurance Group, an independent insurance broker in Ontario, has appointed John Belyea as its chief operating officer.

During his 23-year career, Belyea has held numerous leadership positions in the insurance brokerage industry, beginning with Trivest Insurance Network in 1989 and joining Creighton & Company Insurance Brokers in 1993. He was also a founding partner of Easyway Insurance Brokers.

Upon the sale of Creighton & Company in 2007, Belyea formed Belyea Consulting Group Ltd. Over the past five years, he has worked with more than 35 organizations across Canada on a wide variety of projects, including mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning and process improvement initiatives.

At Moore-McLean, Belyea will be responsible for leading the personal and commercial service teams, together with the finance and administration departments.

He officially joins Moore-McLean on Aug. 1, 2012.
