Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) has struck a special team to minimize the impact of an impending Canada Post strike. The team will look at how the province’s auto insurer will make sure customers continue to receive claims cheques, refund cheques, vendor cheques, income replacement and other injury payment cheques, enhanced driver’s licences, basic identification cards and enhanced identification cards.”Service and claim centres, in addition to Autopac agents, will play a key role in service delivery for our customers,” said Marilyn McLaren, MPI’s president and CEO.Almost no customers make their payments by mail. As such, they will be expected to make their payments on or before the due date in the event of postal disruption, MPI says.
