The DSR is a 32-level scale. Numbers in the positive range representing merit points, leading to premium reductions. Numbers in the negative range represent demerit points, leading to higher premiums. Traffic convictions and at-fault accidents cause a driver to slide down the DSR scale. Changes to the DSR include: long-time safe drivers who are placed at +15 on the DSR scale will receive a maximum 33% discount, an increase of 8% from the previous maximum discount; drivers within DSR levels +11 to +14 will receive discounts of 27% to 30%, respectively; and drivers placed at the DSR level +10 will receive a 26% discount, a 1% increase from the previous discount of 25%.
