Allianz Commercial has named Mary Ann Stewart its new regional head of liability for North America.

Beginning Sept. 22, she takes responsibility for strategic direction and management of Allianz Commercial’s North American liability portfolio, which includes excess casualty, construction liability, and environmental coverages across Canada and the U.S.

Stewart will be based in Chicago, reporting to Jenise Klein, chief underwriting officer of Allianz Commercial North America.

“Liability remains a core product for Allianz Commercial as we strive to be the most trusted commercial insurer to our customers across a broad range of solutions,” Klein says in a Wednesday press release.

“We are delighted to welcome Mary Ann to the Allianz North American team. Her exceptional expertise in both global and regional liability underwriting and strong leadership will be pivotal to our continued success in the region.”

In addition to her strategic duties, Stewart assumes oversight of the direction, leadership and talent development files for Allianz Commercial’s liability underwriters in Canada and the U.S. The firm specializes in complex risk solutions, with a portfolio of commercial general liability and specialty liability insurance.
