Muise is president of Personal Lines & Travel Insurance at Navacord, where she’s responsible for driving growth, acquisitions and digital transformation in personal lines and travel insurance across Canada. Prior to that, as the company’s COO, she led client experience, marketing and IT, and participated actively in mergers and acquisitions. Muise has 20 years of industry experience, having led teams in sales, claims, underwriting, and distribution on both the broker and carrier sides of the business. She holds an FCIP, MBA, and BScMath. “As we look ahead to the future, our commitment remains true to the aim of continuous evolution in the P&C industry through insurance education,” Muise says in a July 14 press release. “With new technologies, evolving risks and a changing workforce, we will continue to innovate and prepare the next generation of insurance professionals to lead with knowledge, confidence and care.” The Institute’s executive committee is elected for a one-year mandate, renewable for two years. “We are proud to welcome Melanie to this prestigious appointment. Melanie will carry on the storied tradition that began in 1899 when the Insurance Institute of Toronto was formed, ultimately evolving into the Insurance Institute of Ontario,” says IIC president and CEO Peter Hohman.
