Owens will lead the formation of the new business, bringing together the captive operations of North America, Europe and International into a single cohesive business, notes a statement from Willis Group Holdings, a global risk adviser, insurance and reinsurance broker. “By bringing all of our captive operations together, we can further strengthen our propositions globally,” says Owens, who joined Willis Group in 1990 and has had a long association with the group’s captive operations. A Graduate Chartered Accountant, Owens has held a number of senior positions with Willis Group, the most recent being chief operating officer of Willis Limited and Global Businesses. “Paul is ideally qualified for this new role, bringing with him a wealth of experience in the areas of insurance, regulation, finance and governance along with his in-depth knowledge and connections throughout Willis,” Steve Hearn, deputy CEO of Willis Group, adds in the statement.
