RIBO issues warning about Capital Insurance Company

Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) says it has fielded a number of calls from people who have received information or purchased auto insurance from Capital Insurance Company.”Capital Insurance Company is not licensed to write insurance in Ontario,” RIBO says in an online bulletin. “Individuals are directed to sign up for insurance online and to deposit the premium money into a specific bank account for the auto insurance coverage. False policy documents may or may not be issued by the perpetrators.”RIBO is advising anyone who has recently purchased insurance from Capital Insurance Company to please contact Rahim Dharssi (416) 590-7226 of the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO).
