RSA Canada employees pitch in to celebrate insurer’s 300th anniversary

RSA Canada employees raised $241,000, volunteered 5,200 hours and donated 56,000 items to charities in communities across the country.The fundraising and volunteer initiatives were part of a global effort to mark RSA’s 300th anniversary. The campaign ran from April 7 to June 25, and RSA gave each employee one day off work to volunteer in his or her community, an RSA release says.Employees from St. John’s, Dartmouth, Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto, Mississauga, Calgary, Vancouver, Kelowna, Nanaimo and Victoria participated in helping out more than 100 charities in the respective communities.Some of the key charities supported include the United Way, the World Wildlife Federation, Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade, the Canadian Cancer Society, local food banks and local Humane Societies and SPCAs.
