SGI is granting a one-time eligibility exemption for farm licence plates due to recent flooding and wet soil conditions facing farmers throughout the province. The exemption is effective immediately and expires on June 1, 2011.Usually an individual or farm corporation wishing to license their vehicles with farm plates must meet a requirement to seed a minimum amount of crop each year. Due to continuous rain, however, many farmers have been unable to seed enough land to meet this requirement. To be eligible for this one-time exemption, the following conditions must be met:•the farmer must have licensed his or her vehicle with farm plates in 2009; and•the farmer must intend to continue farming in 2011, and must seed enough crop to qualify for farm plates next year.
