TD Insurance is planning to expand its operations in Saint John, N.B. over the next three years, adding about 275 jobs over that time.

The move it part of a partnership with Invest NB, a Crown corporation designed to attract business opportunities to the province. TD Insurance has so far posted 121 new positions to its corporate website, according to a release Tuesday.

“Our team in Saint John is among the best in the country in delivering the legendary experience that our customers expect from TD Bank and TD Insurance,” Kenn Lalonde, president and CEO of TD Insurance commented in its statement. “This partnership provides a great opportunity to build on this strength and create future growth for the region.”

Employees at the TD Insurance Saint John office provide sales, service and claims support to customers in the Atlantic provinces, as well as internal and administrative functions for the company. The Saint John TD Insurance centre would eventually employ more than 730 people while adding 30% in office space, according to the company.

“Financial services are among the fastest growing sectors in New Brunswick and we are pleased TD Insurance has chosen Saint John to expand its operations,”  David Alward, premier of New Brunswick added in TD’s statement. “Working with strong partners like TD Insurance is a key part of our government’s plan to create jobs and rebuild the economy.”
