The funding is provided through The Co-operators Foundation’s Community Economic Development (CED) Fund. The CED fund is part of The Co-operators Foundation, which supports social economy enterprises and other worthy causes throughout Canada. Since 1995, the fund has disbursed more than $3.1 million to 79 organizations.The following grants were announced on June 29: •Community Laundry Co-op (CLC), Ottawa, ON, $18,000;•Operation Come Home (OCH), Ottawa, ON, $19,905; •Independent Living Sudbury Manitoulin (ISLM), Sudbury, ON, $20,000; •Common Ground Co-operative (CGC), Toronto, ON, $20,000; •First Work, Ingersoll and Toronto, ON, $16,800; •New Community Youth Development Corporation (YDC), Saskatoon, SK, $20,000; •Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association, Calgary, AB, $20,000 per year for two years; •Eastside Movement for Business and Economic Renewal Society (EMBERS), Vancouver, BC, $20,000; and •Common Thread Co-operative, Vancouver, BC, $15,000.
