The Co-operators provides funding for emerging co-operatives

The Co-operators announced $115,800 in grants to 11 emerging Canadian co-operatives. The funding is provided through The Co-operators Foundation Co-operative Development Program.The following organizations received funding:•Dominion Newspaper Co-operative, $9,000; •Cooperative de travail du College des Hauts Sommets, $15,000;•Ensemble.coop, $10,000;•Funeral Co-operative of Ottawa Inc., $15,000;•By the Bushel Community Food Co-op Inc., $6,500;•ParlT Worker Co-op, $5,000;•Peg City Car Co-op Inc., $6,300;•Kootenay Columbia Senior’s Housing Co-operative, $15,000;•Umbrella Mutlicultural Health Cooperative, $15,000;•Cedar Opportunities Co-operative, $10,000; and•Nanaimo CarShare Cooperative, $9,000.
