For example, the company invested more than $130,000 in technology to allow for almost 6,000 hours of video conferencing in lieu of business travel. Vehicle emissions have been reduced by 31% (compared to 2007), after the conversion of its vehicle fleet to more fuel-efficient models. Also, The Co-operators has recently begun to offer hybrid vehicle discounts, environmentally responsible home insurance endorsements and socially responsible investment options to promote environmentally friendly behaviour among its stakeholders.
