Integro (Canada) Ltd. held a cocktail reception at its Toronto office on Feb. 28, 2007. *** About 325 people attended the Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC) Alberta Chapter‘s annual Gold Flame Awards Luncheon on Jan. 26, 2007 at Stampede Park in Calgary. The Gold Flame Award recognizes industry members who have made substantial contributions to WICC and donated time and energy above and beyond the call of duty. This year’s Gold Flame Award winners were: Royal and SunAlliance Insurance Company; Peace Hills Insurance; Belfor Canada; the Independent Insurance Brokers Association of Alberta; The Jim Sinclair Charity Golf Tournament Committee; Thom Young and Lundgren and Young Insurance; and ING Insurance. Volunteer of the Year was presented to Amanda Settee of Royal and SunAlliance. *** HKMB brokers held its 2nd annual HKMB Hockey Challenge on Feb. 16, 2007, at Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto. About 30 skaters took to the ice, representing a broad cross-section of industry “players” – including insurance companies, brokers, adjusters and suppliers. The event ended with a 50/50 draw and a raffle for memorabilia such as an autographed Toronto Maple Leaf hockey stick, a Toronto Raptors basketball jersey and other prize items. Proceeds from the event were donated to the United Way of Canada. The verbal ‘highlight reels’ could be heard when the gang all joined at Shoeless Joe’s after the game.
