The deal was effective Mar. 1, 2025. Established in 1947, Saskatchewan-based Loewen is a full-service brokerage operating in Radville, Ceylon and Minton. The firm provides coverage for properties, vehicles, businesses and farms. “I’m extremely pleased to welcome Loewen Agencies to the Westland team,” Westland president and CEO Jamie Lyons said in a recent release. “This is an exciting step in our growth journey. Supporting rural communities across Canada with their insurance needs is an important part of our business model…” The brokerage will be integrated into Westland’s operations, allowing it to gain access to a “broader range of insurance products and resources,” Westland said. This deal is Westland’s second of 2025, following Westland’s purchase of Youngs Insurance Brokers’ West Burlington Office in February.
