What’s New: In Brief (November 28, 2008)

Catlin Canada has announced two appointments to its Calgary office.Greg Joyce will assume the position of product manager, energy, and John Alford will be energy and property underwriter.Both join Catlin Canada from GCAN Canada, where they had established a domestic oil and gas portfolio. Joyce was previously the manager of GCAN’s Calgary office.

CARSTAR Automotive Canada presented a cheque for Cdn$117,500 to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CCFF).More than 1,000 insurance and vendors, employees and friends attended an annual charity gala in support of the CCFF at Carmen’s Banquet Centre in Hamilton, Ontario.Sam Mercanti, president and CEO of CARSTAR, presented the cheque to CCFF at the event.Over the past nine years, CARSTAR has raised more than Cdn$1.6 million to fund research and treatment in the fight against cystic fibrosis.
