Steamatic enters Nova Scotia In other restoration news, Steamatic Canada announced the opening of its first franchise in Nova Scotia. This is the second franchise to open in the Maritime province, following Steamatic Prince Edward Island, the company says in a media release. Steamatic Canada is a network of disaster restoration franchises that has been in business for more than 50 years. The new owner of Steamatic Halifax, Scott Swinamer, has more than 30 years of experience in the building, construction and restoration industry. His team will comprise a dozen employees, offering disaster restoration, mould remediation and renovation services. “I’ve always wanted to introduce a new franchise to the province of Nova Scotia, and there was no better way to do it than in the Halifax Regional Municipality,” Swinamer says. “With all the weather and natural disasters that have affected the province in recent years, the choice of a Steamatic franchise was a natural one.” Feature image by iStock.com/Visivasnc Jason Contant Jason has been an award-winning journalist with Canadian Underwriter for more than a decade, including the past three years as associate editor and, before that, as digital editor for seven years.
