Willis Group introduces specialty program for U.S. dairy producers

Willis Group Holdings unveiled Tuesday its DairyProtector program, targeted at American farms producing raw milk for bulk sales.

DairyProtector will be administered by Portsmouth, N.H.-based Willis Programs, which sells specialty products for specific industries. It will be available in 19 U.S. states and is underwritten by a carrier that Willis says was rated “A” by A.M. Best.

Willis Programs will administer DairyProtector from its Denver office.

Coverage under the program includes livestock mortality, auto, property, employee benefits and business breakdown. It is not available to truckers or creameries.

“As other carriers exit this market or tighten their underwriting approach to this class, we can offer brokers a long-term, stable solution for their clients,” Willis’ program manager for DairyProtector, Matt Sailor stated in a press release. “Our carrier partner for DairyProtector maintains strong capacity and flexibility in engineering coverage solutions, which we feel will position DairyProtector to become the premiere insurance solution for dairy risks.”

Other Willis Programs products include general liability, workers’ compensation, directors and officers’ liability, professional liability and auto. It offers insurance packages for a variety of business types, such as limousine firms, pizza delivery restaurants, ice rink operators, manufacturers and ski resorts.
