XL Group’s reinsurance operations appoints Tim Fisher as Canadian branch manager

XL Group plc’s reinsurance operations in Bermuda recently announced the appointment of Tim Fisher as senior vice president and Canadian branch manager.

Fisher, who has more than 25 years of experience in the reinsurance industry, will be responsible for leading XL’s Toronto-based reinsurance underwriting team, notes a company statement.

Before taking on his new role, he was senior vice president and underwriter in XL’s Bermuda reinsurance operations. During his 12 years in Bermuda, Fisher was instrumental in helping to grow the reinsurance book of business, which comprises a broad range of risks, including U.S. and international property catastrophe and specialty risks. 

Fisher will report to Christopher Buse, managing director and head of casualty reinsurance in North America.
