XL Insurance implements centralized global claims management system

XL Insurance and global management consultant Accenture are implementing a new centralized global claims management system to support XL Insurance’s operations in 25 countries, including Canada. The system is designed to enhance XL Insurance’s customer service and reduce costs by consolidating and upgrading its core claims-processing technologies and procedures globally. It is based on the Accenture Claim Components Solution. XL Insurance’s new system will support a full range of claims processing transactions — from first notification of loss through final payment — for all of its property and casualty insurance business lines. “In today’s challenging times, insurers must take advantage of the opportunity to increase their profitability and differentiate themselves in the marketplace by streamlining and renewing their claims operations,” Gilles Biscay, managing director and head of Accenture’s insurance industry software solutions, said in a release. “As one of the first insurers to implement a truly global claims system, XL Insurance is positioning itself for new competitive advantages and unprecedented scalability for future growth.”The new system is already in use in the United States, Canada and Bermuda. Expansion is planned throughout South America, Europe and Asia as part of a second phase of the implementation.
