Zurich Insurance Company has announced the appointment of Paul Jackson as CEO of Zurich Canada.

Jackson will step into the role on Jan. 1, 2026. He is succeeding Saad Mered, who will take on a new role with Zurich Insurance Group.

“Paul brings deep market expertise and a proven track record of leadership,” said Sierra Signorelli, Zurich Insurance Group’s CEO of commercial insurance. “His customer-first approach and ability to navigate complex market dynamics make him the ideal leader to guide Zurich Canada into its next phase of growth.”

Zurich says Jackson’s appointment signals its commitment to accelerate growth in Canada.

Jackson first joined Zurich Canada in 2024 as senior vice president of customer and market management, and retail.

He possesses more than 25 years of industry experience in Canada and internationally and previously served as COO of Gore Mutual. He’s also held various senior executive positions at Aviva, including vice president of distribution at Aviva Canada.

Jackson is an alumnus of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Sunderland.
