Mould! Asbestos! Lead! The dangers and negative health effects associated with mould, asbestos and lead have heightened our awareness to prevent or manage these contaminates more conscientiously in the claims process. The prevention and effective remediation of these environmental concerns must be taken seriously by both insurance and restoration companies. Canada Mortgage and Housing states “people should not live in mouldy houses.” Buildings constructed prior to 1990 are at a greater risk of containing other hazardous materials.
