Fire investigation is all about the science! A fire cause is not so because the investigator says it is, it’s so because the science says it can’t be otherwise. This session will take you through an in-depth tour of the due process involved in a fire investigation and further widely recognized by the courts. Gain a better understanding of fire by exploring how it ignites, evolves and can be misread!

SEMINAR OBJECTIVES

  • Identify physical and chemical changes of matter related to fire
  • Discuss exothermic reactions, the fire triangle and fire tetrahedron
  • Describe typical sources of energy, heat transmission methods and phase changes
