Dates: Tuesdays; January 9, 2018 to April 3, 2018 Time: 13 weeks, 6 to 8:30 pm + Exam Date: April 9, 2018 Cost: $799.25 new members | $719.25 for current paid members Exam: April 9, 2018 lower mainland | Out-of-town – Week of April 9, 2018 (dependent on proctor availability) Your level 1 education will introduce you to the insurance business, insurance intermediaries, the insurance company, basic documents, insurance practices and automobile insurance. It also covers, at an introductory level, law and insurance, insurance contracts, insurance organizations, fire insurance, homeowner policies, personal lines policies, liability insurance, commercial insurance coverage, reinsurance, risk management and loss prevention. Once you have successfully completed the course, you will be eligible to apply to the Insurance Institute of Canada to receive a credit for the CIP course, C11: Principles and Practice of insurance. The cost for this credit is $94.00 plus GST. Examinations for lower mainland will be held at the Insurance Institute of BC. Licensing exams are two (2) hours in duration and consist of 100 multiple-choice questions. 70% is required to pass.
