TORONTO, ON, MARCH 12, 2026/insPRESS/ – The Canadian Association of Special Investigation Units (CASIU), the Northeast Regional Chapter of the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators (IAATI) and Peel Regional Police are once again uniting their strengths to host the 53rd Annual Vehicle Crimes Conference.

Held at the Mississauga Convention Centre (May 4-7, 2026) – this multi-day event will once again bring together insurance + other industry experts, law enforcement professionals and investigators from across North America to share the latest techniques, technology, and intelligence in combating auto theft and vehicle-related crimes. Attendees will participate in hands-on workshops, expert-led sessions, and networking opportunities focused on current trends, investigative strategies, and collaboration between agencies.

About Northeast IAATI

Northeast Chapter of the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators serves professionals involved in the field of vehicle theft investigation, insurance fraud and vehicle crimes in Northeastern USA and the Eastern Provinces of Canada.

Today, NE-IAATI is composed of hundreds of active and retired law enforcement officers, insurance SIU investigators, vehicle fraud investigators, and automotive experts from both sides of the border.

The Northeast Regional Chapter received its charter from the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators (IAATI) on January 24, 1972. The founding charter members recognized the present and future need of an organization that would serve those persons involved in the field of vehicle theft investigation in the Northeastern USA and the Eastern Provinces of Canada.

The Northeast Chapter of IAATI is dedicated to developing and encouraging the highest professional standards of conduct among investigators. Education, networking and advancement is the motto of NE-IAATI and true success in auto crime investigations comes from all three.
