Troy MacDonald, a long-standing member of the DKI – Meco team, will step into the role of owner. Honouring Gary Chant’s Legacy: 37 Years of Service Gary’s journey began in 1992, when a home renovation turned into a water damage emergency. What started as a simple repair evolved into a calling to rebuild, restore, and make a difference. From that moment, his small, two-person operation grew into DKI – Meco, a trusted, community-rooted business with over 40 dedicated employees. In 2006, Gary officially joined DKI Canada, reflecting his deep commitment to being part of a high-standard network of restoration leaders. Throughout his career, Gary led with both head and heart. From major projects like Brookland Elementary School after the 2016 floods, to Sydney Academy, Riverview School, and the Sydney Courthouse, and adopting advanced technologies like Esporta and Fireline, he raised the bar for quality and care. As Gary steps into retirement, he looks forward to spending time with his four granddaughters, traveling, enjoying live music, and cheering on his beloved Montreal Canadiens. He’ll also continue offering guidance to Troy, his long-time trusted friend, who is taking the reins moving forward.
