TORONTO, ON, NOVEMBER 14, 2025/insPRESS/ – The Ontario chapter of the Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Laura Pennings, National Account Executive at First Onsite Property Restoration, as Chair of Donations and Community Outreach on the WICC Ontario Board of Directors.

Laura succeeds Sindy Houle, who has led the portfolio since 2022 with passion and unwavering dedication, building strong connections across the insurance community to support WICC’s fundraising and outreach efforts. Before joining the WICC Ontario Board, Sindy contributed across multiple committees and brought a strong sense of purpose and dedication when she stepped into the Chair role of the newly formed Donations and Community Outreach portfolio.

A long-time WICC supporter and Board Volunteer, Laura has co-chaired the Donations and Community Outreach portfolio for several years, helping to engage industry partners, donors, and event sponsors in support of WICC’s mission. She brings extensive experience in client and community relations, and a proven ability to strengthen partnerships that contribute to WICC’s success.

“WICC brings together an incredible network of people who care deeply about making a difference,” said Laura Pennings. “It’s been inspiring to see the impact of our collective efforts, and I’m excited to continue advancing this important work alongside such a dedicated group of volunteers.”

The Donations and Community Outreach portfolio plays a key role in fostering relationships across the insurance community and supporting fundraising events that advance cancer research, education, and support through WICC’s long-standing partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society.

“Laura has been a powerful advocate for WICC’s mission and has played a key role in engaging our industry in meaningful ways,” said Marilyn Horrick, Co-Chair, WICC Ontario. “We extend our sincere thanks to Sindy Houle, whose thoughtful and steady leadership not only expanded WICC’s connections across the insurance community but also helped establish a strong foundation for this portfolio’s continued growth. Her contributions have made a lasting impact. As Laura moves into the Chair role, we are confident her passion and expertise will guide the portfolio into its next successful chapter.”
