This global day of giving provides a meaningful opportunity for the insurance community to help advance cancer research, education, and support for those affected by cancer. According to the Canadian Cancer Society, 2 in 5 Canadians are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, making continued funding for research and support services more critical than ever. WICC invites organizations and individuals to get involved by donating, hosting team fundraisers, or amplifying the campaign on social media. Every contribution supports research breakthroughs and provides care and hope for families impacted by cancer. Thanks to the generosity and commitment of insurance professionals across Canada, WICC has helped raise more than $22 million to advance cancer research and support programs. Continued participation this year will help move the organization closer to its $25 million goal. Last year’s Giving Tuesday campaign helped build on the momentum of major initiatives such as Relay for Life, one of WICC’s signature events bringing insurance professionals together nationwide. “Giving Tuesday is a powerful reminder that every act of generosity can make a real difference,” said Garth Pepper, Co-Chair, WICC Ontario. “When our industry steps forward, we don’t just raise funds. We lift spirits. We offer hope.” Let’s unite as an industry for our seventh year of Giving Tuesday and donate now at: https://wicc.ca/on/donate-now/ About WICC: Since its inception in 1996, WICC and the individuals who work in the property and casualty insurance industry in Canada have raised over $22 million nationally in support of cancer research and education. WICC’s mission is to unite and engage the Canadian insurance community to fund cancer research, educate, and improve the lives of those affected by cancer.
