Brokers have been on the front lines when it comes to assisting clients going through difficult times as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

How are they coping? And what does the future of brokers look like as we look to a post-COVID world?

Those questions and more were posed to leaders from four of the biggest brokerage firms in Canada on Feb. 10 during a free webinar hosted by Canadian Underwriter.

The panel was made up of Tina Osen, president of Hub International Canada, Brian Parsons, head of Canada at Willis Towers Watson, Dave Partington, CEO of Gallagher Brokerage Canada, and Sarah Robson, president and CEO of Marsh Canada.

The executives tackled issues like what a back to work plan could entail, how technology has changed the way brokers are able to meet with their clients, how sales have been impacted and recruitment amid COVID. They also explored how their firms are taking on diversity, inclusion and representation in the workplace in addition to the changing role of brokers, solutions for brokers in the hard market and how insurers can support them.
