About the presenters President and CEO, Property and Casualty Insurance Compensation Corporation (PACICC) Alister Campbell was named as CEO of the Property and Casualty Insurance Compensation Corporation (PACICC) in February of 2019. He is a 40-year insurance industry veteran and has previously served as CEO of two leading Canadian insurers (Zurich Canada and The Guarantee Company of North America). Over the course of his career, he has held senior executive positions in a range of capacities within the property-casualty, life and travel insurance industries including general management, marketing, brokerage distribution strategy, investor relations and digital commerce. Alister has previously served the Canadian P&C industry as Chair of the Board of Directors of PACICC and as Deputy Chair of the Board of the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC). He is former Chair of the International Forum of Insurance Guarantee Schemes and continues to serve on its Management Committee. He was a founding Board Member of the Global Institute in Financial Services and served on that Board for 9 years. He is a Senior Fellow at the CD Howe Institute. Alister also serves on several Boards – he is Chair of Sagicor Bermuda Re Limited and a Board Member of Bahamas-based Family Guardian Insurance Company. Alister holds a BA (Hons.) from the University of Toronto, a M.Sc. from the London School of Economics and an MBA (Finance) from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He lives in Calgary. Managing Director, Canadian Specialty Broking Leader, Aon A seasoned risk and insurance professional with over 20 years of experience, Denise enjoys creating high performing teams and helping clients mitigate their risk exposures. In her current role as Managing Director, Canadian Specialty Broking Leader, Denise is responsible for leading broking strategies to ensure Aon’s clients can make better decisions to protect and grow their business. Denise earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2002, with the co-operative education option and a minor in Psychology. EVP & Chief Operating Officer, Sovereign Colette Taylor is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Sovereign Insurance, where she leads the business strategy to drive new growth in the rapidly changing Canadian marketplace. Colette has been in the P&C insurance industry for more than 20 years in a variety of roles. She found her passion when she entered the world of team leadership. Prior to joining Sovereign, she had extensive experience in the mid-market commercial and specialty space as an executive and senior leader. She has led front-line commercial underwriting teams, managed strategic broker relationships, and spent time during her career as a broker working directly with commercial end-clients. Since joining Sovereign in 2018, Colette has had a significant impact on the organization, quickly demonstrating her capabilities and growing within the leadership team. She began by leading the Specialty Lines Solutions team and assumed responsibility of the Commercial Solutions team in 2020 in her role as VP Commercial Solutions and Specialty Lines Solutions. Colette was responsible for the streamlined execution of Sovereign’s strategies within Commercial Solutions and Specialty Lines Solutions to support Sovereign’s goals for each channel of distribution. Her focus on innovation, efficiency, and informed underwriting has streamlined Sovereign’s operations; fostered a more collaborative and efficient experience for the organization’s brokers and partners and made a significant impact on supporting Sovereign’s profitability.
