BrokerLink’s first acquisitions of 2026 include three deals in Alberta and Ontario.

SL Insurance Brokers Ltd., Spriggs Insurance Brokers Limited, and William G. Waters Insurance Brokers Limited all joined BrokerLink effective Feb. 1.

SL Insurance Brokers (Spruceland Insurance Brokers) has offered personalized service to local Albertans for close to 50 years. Over the decades, the Spruce Grove, Alta.-based brokerage has remained independently owned, offering a range of specialty and hard-to-place coverages.

Spruceland specializes in serving small to mid-sized businesses, contractors, and personal insurance customers with complex needs. Coverage offerings include home, auto, travel trailer, home-based businesses, oil and gas (wellhead), hospitality, agriculture, and transportation, among others.

Ontario’s Spriggs Insurance has operated as a brokerage “built on strong family values” for more 50 years, as BrokerLink puts it in a press release. With a main office in downtown Oakville and branch offices in several other locations, Spriggs Insurance specializes in personal (property and auto) and small business insurance.

“Deeply rooted in its community, the Spriggs Insurance team has supported a wide range of local charities, cultural organizations and volunteer-driven initiatives,” BrokerLink adds.

Scarborough, Ont.-based William G. Waters Insurance has supported the Greater Toronto Area and Southern Ontario since 1961, providing multi-generational customers with tailored insurance solutions. The family-run brokerage provides auto, home, commercial and life insurance policies.

“Each brokerage we’ve acquired in February brings unique strengths to our organization and together, we’re better positioned to support the people and communities who rely on us,” Michael Stack, BrokerLink’s vice president of acquisitions, says. “These teams have deep roots in the areas they serve, and we’re excited to build on that foundation as we help even more customers in Northern Alberta and Southern Ontario.”

Team members from Spruceland Insurance Brokers, Spriggs Insurance, and William G. Waters Insurance will continue serving local community members as part of the BrokerLink team.

As a subsidiary of Intact Financial Corporation, BrokerLink is one of Canada’s largest property and casualty insurance brokerages, with more than 225 branches and 4,000 employees across Canada.

BrokerLink has remained active in the brokerage M&A space. It capped off 2025 with four acquisitions in Alberta: Excel & Y Insurance Services/Lundgren & Young Insurance, AUVI Insurance Brokers Corp., Sceptre Pointe Insurance Limited, and Derek Agencies Ltd. (operating as Bentley Agencies).
