Insurer appoints head of specialty for Canada

Liberty Mutual Insurance has announced the appointment of Frederick Ling as head of specialty for Liberty Mutual Canada.

Reporting to Liberty Mutual Canada president Rob Marsh, Ling will be accountable for the financial and operational performance of Liberty Mutual Canada’s specialty products, including financial and professional services, cyber and technology, marine, mergers and acquisitions, and environmental.

Ling has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. He has a range of knowledge within specialty lines teams and products, with experience spanning across Canada, the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

His education includes a Bachelor of Business Administration, CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional) designation, and a joint MBA from Northwestern University in Illinois and Toronto’s York University.

Liberty Mutual Canada offers a broad suite of commercial insurance products and solutions to mid-size and large Canadian companies with Canadian, North American and/or multinational risks. The insurer is headquartered in Toronto, with regional offices in Calgary, Halifax, Montreal, and Vancouver.
